Elnora Keeter

Elnora Keeter, 75, passed away on December 14, 2022.  She was born May 12, 1947 in Durham to the late Andrew Gregory Kanatselis and Mary Elizabeth Jones Walker.  Other than her parents she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Laura Ann; brother, Andrew Clark Kanas and her sister, Betsy Marie Garrard.  She was a passionate Carolina Tar Heel Basketball fan.  Elnora worked in textiles before retiring and enjoyed volunteering at the Hospice Thrift Store.  Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Pamela Lorraine Smith (Richard), Sherry Laforet (Chris); sons, James Andrew Day, Michael Douglas Day (Tammy); grandchildren, Mary Ann Smith, Megan Marie Smith Tilley (Cody), Rebekah Leigh Laforet, Lori Ann Day-Gay (Jason Travis II), Michael Douglas Day, Jr. and a great grandson Jason Travis Gay III “Trey”.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am on Monday December 19, 2022 in the McClure Funeral Chapel with Pastor Howard Thompson officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Methodist Home for Children at https://www.mhfc.org/
