Elsie Watts Bowling

December 9, 1935 — March 6, 2023

Graham

Elsie Watts Bowling passed away Monday, March 6 at Alamance Regional Hospital. She was born on December 9, 1935 in Richmond, VA and was raised in Siler City, NC.  She married the love of her life, Frank Bowling on June 27, 1959 and was with him until his death in December of 2017. She was retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield where she was employed for over 30 years. As a resident of Brookdale Assisted Living for the past 3 months, she made many friends there. A quiet lady of deep faith, she believed in living by example and not words, always with a positive outlook and never a discouraging word everyone around her was uplifted in her presence. She placed God and her family first in her life and she was a wonderful mother, sister, wife, and role model.  She will be greatly missed here on earth but we are comforted knowing her light will shine for eternity in her heavenly home.  She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Bowling; her brothers, Jesse Watts and Larry Watts; and her sisters, Elizabeth Terry, Nancy Dick, and Alice Dobson.  She is survived by her brothers, Harold Watts Jr. (Grace) of Aberdeen, NC and Jerry Watts (Becky) of Huntsville, AL; her sister, Frances Powers (Jim) of Dunn, NC; her sons, Eric Bowling (Karla) of Graham, NC and Adam Bowling (Kim) of Welcome, NC; her granddaughters, Briana Whitaker (Sam) of Peoria, IL and Shannon Whitaker (Daniel) of Summerville, SC; and her great grandson, Logan of Summerville, SC. Donations can be made to the Durham Rescue Mission.
