Ernest "Lee" Steele

Mr. Ernest Lee Steele passed away on August 27, 2021. Lee was born on August 4, 1956 to the late Billy and Esquriedo Steele in Alamance County, NC. He was a graduate of Graham High School and Elon University with honors at both. Lee was Captain of the football teams. He was a lifelong member of Riverdale Baptist Church. He was an avid karaoke singer at the Graham Soda Shop or any place he could sing with an audience, and Co-Team Leader of Positively Paranormal Investigators. Survivors include his loving sister, Darlene Oakley; his nieces, Christy Kimrey and Holly Oakley; nephew, Michael Oakley Jr.; 2 great nieces, 1 great nephew and many loving cousins; his special buddy, his dog, Scrappy Dog and his best friend, Matt Sheler. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday September 9, 2021 at Riverdale Baptist Church at 1273 Haw River Hopedale Rd. Burlington, NC 27217. McClure Funeral Service in Graham is assisting the family.
