Mrs. Esther Lynch Brantley 95, of Graham, NC passed away on Monday April 13, 2020 at the Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington. She was born in Johnston Co. NC to the late Henry and Lonie Caroline Parrish Lynch. Esther had spent many years volunteering at Alamance Regional as a founding “Pink Lady” and was part of the groundbreaking ceremonies at the Hospital. She was one who always put others above herself no matter her age as her will to do for others was always strong. She always took the time to talk and check in on her neighbors and friends. She retired from Bur-Mil Store on Church Street in Burlington. Esther was an avid UNC Basketball fan and one would quickly learn you didn’t call her or bother her during the game. Esther was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Graham where she taught Sunday school for numerous years. Mrs. Brantley leaves behind her beloved and trusted friend and companion, her special cat, Clinton. Survivors include her daughters, Jan Peterman and Husband Mayor Jerry, of Graham and Ames Brantley, of Raleigh; her son, Craig Brantley and wife Jo, of Graham; her loving grandchildren, Guy Brantley, of Graham, Meredith Thornton and husband Chuck, of Graham, Jason Brantley and wife April, of Graham and Dr. Jeremy Peterman and wife Rachel, of Mesa, Arizona; great grandchildren, Colby, Hannah, Cohen, Kennedy, Graysen, and Henry and her many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Elbert Brantley; sisters, Eunice Pierce, Mary Lee Howell, Mozelle Self and a baby sister, Lillie Lynch and her brothers, George Lynch, Noble Lynch, Battle “Bat” Lynch and Howard Lynch. A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday April 21, 2020. Mrs. Brantley will be open to the public on Monday April 20, 2020 from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM at the McClure Funeral Service in Graham. There will be a public memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Graham at PO Box 779 Graham, NC 27253.
