Everett Paul “Cook” Wood, 90, of Haw River passed away on July 2, 2022. He was a native of Alamance County, retired owner and operator of Haw River Canvas, member of the Haw River Historical Association, the American Legion in Haw River, a US Navy Veteran from 1950-1954 and a member of Haw River United Methodist Church. He is the son of the late Devette Mack & Mary Isabell McCracken Wood; he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Elanda Wood; daughter, Teresa Lynn Wood; sister, Pearl Allison and brother, Devette Mack “Jim” Wood
He is survived by his wife, Trina Alderson Wood of the home; son, Everett Paul “Jay” Wood, Jr. of Burlington; brother, John Wesley Wood of San Diego, Ca; half sisters, Sherry Ferrell & & Gaynell Abernathy; grandchildren, Patricia Anne Wood, Rebecca Marie Wood & Robert Preston Page; 8 great grandchildren
A service to celebrate his life will be held on 1:00 PM Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Haw River United Methodist Church By Pastor Laure Kalau and Pastor Wayne Dewberry. Burial with military honors will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 13, 2022 in Hawfields Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham 5:00 – 7:00 Friday, July 8, 2022.
