Faith Michelle Shanklin, 53, of Mebane and a beacon of light and love, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, at UNC Hospital in Hillsborough. Born on June 2, 1972, Faith's journey through life was marked by an unwavering spirit of generosity and kindness that touched the hearts of all who knew her. Faith was the cherished daughter of Lacy Thomas Shanklin Jr. and his wife, Debbie, and her mother, Wanda Richardson Brown. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, providing her with a foundation of love and support that she carried into every relationship she fostered. Faith's devotion to her family was evident in every aspect of her life, and her role as a mother to her loving son, John Harold Vaughn, was one she embraced with joy and pride. Her son was the embodiment of her spirit and compassion, and she instilled in him the values of empathy and kindness that she lived by every day. The love of her life, Kirk Knight, stood by her side as a partner and best friend. Their love story was one of mutual respect, deep affection, and shared dreams.
