Flossie Mae Steele

July 31, 1916 — January 4, 2015

Flossie Mae Tillman Steele, 98, died Sunday, January 4, 2015, at Littleton Regional Hospital in New Hampshire. She was a native of Alamance County, retired from Burlington Industries, cooked for several years at the Graham Civic Center for various organizations and was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Parks Steele; parents George Henry and Dallie Jones Tillman; son, James William “Bill” Steele of Franconia, NH, with whom she had resided for the past 20 years; sisters Minnie Love, Maggie Tillman and Mozelle Harris; brothers Ben Tillman and Pete Tillman. She is survived by a son George Raymond Steele (Cheryl) of Florida; daughter Katherine Steele Akins of Burlington; son-in-law James F Cantlon of Franconia, NH; grandchildren Cindy Steele Ogden, Hope Steele Quesenberry, Caitlyn Akins Thornburg and Michelle Akins Alvarez; several great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at 2:30 in the afternoon, with Rev. Bob Stephenson presiding. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.mcclurefuneralservice.net
