Frances Smith Barrett

Frances Barrett, 86, passed away on November 24, 2019 at ARMC.  She was the daughter of the late Respess and Ollie Rice Smith and the wife of Howard Barrett for 65 years.  Frances was a very thoughtful person, always looking for ways to encourage and help those who needed it. Known to all as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.  She loved her church and church family, and enjoyed being involved in various functions. Her greatest joy was spending time with her friends and family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; going to many games and events over the years. Frances always looked forward to her time with family during their annual Carolina Beach trip. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband, Howard Barrett, son, Tony Barrett (Jeanne), daughter, Debbie Brooks (Tim), grandchildren; Scarlett Sykes (Travis), Valerie Caviness (Chris), Kim Moore (Ray), Troy Brooks, Emily Brooks, Ashley Hodges, Hunter, Chris and Michael Clark and 8 great grandchildren.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters, grandchildren; Brandi Barrett, David Barrett and Anna Brooks.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday November 26, 2019 from 5-7 at McClure Funeral Service in Graham.  A funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday November 27, 2019 at Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Moore’s Chapel Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Moore's Chapel Baptist Church, 5750 Church Rd, Graham, NC 27253
