Frances Marie (Tuck) Mccauley

Frances Marie Tuck McCauley was born in Halifax Co. Virginia on August 6th, 1930, the oldest daughter of 9 children to the late Percy and Belle Tuck.  On the beautiful spring morning of April 21st, 2023, at the age of 92, she went home to be with her Lord and Savior.  Frances retired from General Electric Company, was a member of Hebron UMC, women’s circle member and former children’s Sunday school teacher.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She would make sure each knew how proud they made her and that she loved them with an unconditional love.  It was no secret that Frances had a knack for cooking and there would often be a niece, nephew, cousin, or fiend happen upon her kitchen around supper time.  She welcomed each with a smile, an open chair, and would make sure no one left hungry.  She loved working in her flower beds, tending her garden, and feeding the birds that frequented her yard.  In her later years, she could often be found sitting on her porch with the sun kissing her cheeks as she breathed in the sweet smells and soaked in the joys of the new life surrounding her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Orva McCauley and her brothers, William Tuck, John “J.D.” Tuck, Carlton Tuck, and Walter Tuck.

Frances is survived by her only son, Steve McCauley (Robin); her grandchildren, Laci Warren (Steven), Clint McCauley, and Houston Moore (Kristy); her great grandchild, Leeann Warren; her brother, Jimmy Tuck (Sarah); her sisters, Mary Alice Hicks, Thelma Smith, and Mildred Teer; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 11am at the McClure Chapel in Mebane.  The family will receive friends the night before from 5-7pm and the funeral home.
