Frances Wagoner Williams

Mrs. Frances Wagoner Williams 101, of the Eli Whitney Community, passed away on February 14, 2022 at UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill. A native of Alamance Co. NC, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Lilly Wagoner and the wife of the late James D. Williams. Frances was known to her family as being the best mother and even better grandmother and great grandmother. She always put her family first and was always there to lend a hand no matter what the need may be. She spent three years in Germany with her husband who served in the US Military and while there they traveled Europe together. She enjoyed multiple girl trips over the years with her daughter and sisters. Each trip a different location to explore with smiles and laughter that will carry on. Frances was a proud member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and the biggest joy in her life was her family. Survivors include her daughter, Judy Petty and husband Donald; her sons, James D. “Butch” Williams Jr. and Jerome B. “Spike” Williams. Her loving grandchildren, Lee Petty, James D. Williams III and wife Christi, Taylor Williams, Marguerite “Maggie” Crouch and husband Robert, Jerome “Blaine” Williams Jr. and wife Karrie, Isabelle Learned and husband Drew, and Elizabeth Redefer and husband Kyle. Her great grandchildren, James “Dobin” Williams IV, Cullen Williams, Alexis Crouch, Sophia Crouch, Lane Williams, Cole Williams and Wesley Learned. Her loving sister, Bobbie Clark; daughter in law, Marguerite “Mauri” Williams and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Sarah, Mamie and Margie; and a daughter in law, Vivian Williams. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday February 20, 2022 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery alongside her husband James. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church at 5043 Mt Olive Church Rd, Pittsboro, NC 27312. McClure Funeral Service in Graham is assisting the family.
