Mr. Frank Woodrow Tinnin, 95, passed away into the presence of the Lord on Monday April 13, 2015 at 11:15 AM at his home surrounded by his family. Frank was born on February 6, 1920 to the late Albert Edgar and Grocie Vincent Tinnin. He was employed at Cone Finishing Plant in Haw River for 39 years. He was in fellowship with the Ireland Street Chapel since 1957 where he served at one time as treasurer, Elder and Sunday School Teacher. Frank is survived by his wife of 68 years, Eleanor Tripp Tinnin, of the home; his children, Wallace Tinnin and wife Susie, of Sneeds Ferry, NC, Paula Mullis and husband Jerry, of Mebane, Frank Tinnin Jr., of Mebane, and Priscilla Stewart and husband Bill, of Burlington; 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Connor, of Morehead City, NC, and Lowrene Dixon, of Burlington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Albert Tinnin and Robert Tinnin; sisters, Mae Thompson, Josephine Sykes, Maude Andrews, and Helen Workman. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday April 16, 2015 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel In Mebane with the Rev. Larry Batts officiating. Burial will follow in Lebanon UMC Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the Funeral Home in Mebane and other times at the residence of the family. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance/Caswell at 918 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215.
