Frederick "Ricky" Lane Clapp Jr.

Frederick Lane Clapp Jr., 61, of Graham, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2026. Ricky was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and son who had a compassionate heart and a generous spirit. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He had a way of making those around him feel welcome, and with his funny personality and stubborn nature, he knew how to keep people laughing and leave a lasting impression on everyone he met. Ricky had a love for music, cars, and racing, especially NASCAR and his favorite driver, Jeff Gordon. He also enjoyed college football and cheering on the Washington Redskins. A talented and artistic man, Ricky loved drawing and painting and enjoyed working on watches. He also took pride in construction work and enjoyed working with his hands. Whether he was pursuing one of his many interests, helping someone in need, or simply enjoying a good, cold beer, Ricky appreciated the simple pleasures in life.

He is survived by his daughter, Angelica Anna Nicole Clapp (Kory Parks); his parents, Frederick Lane Clapp Sr. and Linda Branson Clapp; his grandchildren, Kayden Lee Robinson, Rowan Jacob Parks, and Adalynn Gray Parks; his sister, Cherry Clapp Grubb (Duane); his brothers, Matthew Clapp (Janna) and Paul Branson Clapp; many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

A service will be held to honor his life on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, beginning at 2:00pm at Belmont Baptist Church with Pastor Nathaniel Hobbs officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 12:00pm-2:00pm. Burial will follow the funeral service in the church cemetery.
