Gary Ronald Cooper Sr.

Friday August 3rd at 5:58 AM Gary Ronald Cooper Sr. was called Home to be with The Lord.

He was preceded in by his death Father AG Cooper (Edith), Mother, Catherine Edwards Payne (JV), and Sister, Barbara Horner.

Survived by his Wife of 60 years, Mattie Cooper; Children, Yvonne Cooper, Rhonda Morgan, Dana Carden (Eric), and Gary R. Cooper Jr; Grandchildren Casey Foster (Kim), Bryant Morgan (Brooklynn), Andrew Carden (Ashlyn), and Amanda Carden; Great Grandchildren Jadyn Foster; Luke and Wyatt Morgan; Sisters Ginger King (Kenneth), Sara Cooper; Brother In Laws Thomas Wilson, James Horner and several nieces and nephews.

Gary had a passion for serving his community: 30 plus years Eli Whitney VFD, Boy Scout Leader, Little League Coach, and Cedar Cliff cemetery caretaker. He loved the Outer Banks, fishing, gardening, BBQs, tinkering on engines and spending time with family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday August 6, 2018 at Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Wooten and the Rev. James Bryan officiating. The family will receive friends following the service on Monday in the Church Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cedar Cliff UMC cemetery fund or Eli Whitney Fire and Rescue.
