Gary Millsap Sr.

Gary Wayne Millsap Sr., 72, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, son and friend whose kindness, strength, honesty, loyalty and love for life left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Jessie Anne Millsap, his sister, Tammy White , his son, Gary Wayne Millsap Jr., his wife Tammy, his daughter, Stacey Lynn Markham, her husband Mickey, and his grandchildren, Victoria Markham and Matthew Markham.

Gary was a loving and devoted husband. He deeply loved and cared for his wife Jessie Anne Millsap. They shared a beautiful life together, and made many memories he cherished deeply.

Gary was born on September 22, 1954, to Pastor Fleet Millsap and Mavis Rippy Millsap (Marie). He was baptized and saved as a child. He spent much time at his father’s auction house where he developed a lifelong passion for the antique business. What began as helping in his fathers auction house, became a career that lasted most of his life. He proudly passed his knowledge and love of the antique business on to both of his children, who followed in his footsteps and became successful antique dealers themselves.

In his younger years, Gary worked as a carpenter, a trade that reflected his strong work ethic and talent for building with his hands. He was known as a hardworking man who was always willing to help others and never backed down from hard work.

Gary loved spending time outdoors. He was an avid hunter and especially enjoyed raccoon hunting with his son. He also shared countless days golfing with his son and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Whether he was searching for antiques, walking a golf course or enjoying the outdoors, Gary found happiness in spending time with the people he loved.

He had a deep love for music, especially Motown. If his favorite songs came on, there was a good chance he would be singing along, dancing or making those around him laugh with his joyful spirit.

Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy will live on in the lives he touched and in the traditions he passed down to future generations. Gary loved his family. He was proud of the life he built, proud of his children and deeply loved his grandchildren. His wisdom, stories, humor, honesty, loyalty, and generous heart will continue to live on through the family he cherished so much.

The family will forever cherish the time they had with Gary and find comfort in knowing that he is in his eternal home in heaven his memory will continue to be a blessing to all who loved him.

The family will hold a graveside service at 11am on Friday, July 24, 2026 at Lighthouse Baptist Church Cemetery in Mebane.
