George Thomas "Dusty" Rhodes, Iii

George "Dusty" Thomas Rhodes III, of Mebane, NC passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. He was a native of Augusta, Georgia and is the son of the late George Thomas Rhodes II, and the late Gloria Wright Rhodes. He was a U.S Marine Corp Veteran designated as a sharpshooter and was an instructor for gun safety with the NC Wildlife Resources Commision. Dusty was an avid fisherman, hunter, and gardener and enjoyed sharing his vegetables with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Betsy Jones Rhodes of the home; step daughter Andrea Jones (Marshall) of Burlington, NC; step son Jody Florence (Amy) of Mebane, NC; sister Ann Hall of Georgia; brothers Jack Rhodes (Jean) of South Carolina and Todd Rhodes (Lynne) of Florida; loving nieces and nephews, Laura Helzig (Brad), Mac Rhodes, Caroline Rhodes, Kelly Boots, Scott Hall, Emma Rhodes, and Evan Rhodes (Jen); grandchildren Kourtney Ingold, D.J. Ingold, Kelle Jones, and Tiffany Florence.

A memorial service to celebrate Dusty's life will be held Monday, October 3, 2022, at 7:00 pm at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane, NC. Online condolences may be sent to www.mcclurefuneralservice.net
