Grace Elizabeth Lynch Holt

Grace Elizabeth Lynch Holt, 81 of Mebane died Saturday, June 10, 2017. She was a native of Orange County, retired elementary school teacher and a Member of the Mebane Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of Circle #2. She was also a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, the North Carolina Teachers Association, was a devout Tar Heels fan and enjoyed Atlanta Braves baseball. She also played the piano and organ and loved animals. She was preceded in death by her parents, Zebulon Hamlet & Alma Hodge Lynch; husband, William Alfred “Bill” Holt, Jr; daughter, Cindy Holt Ridge; sisters, Dorothy Lynch Greene and Betty Lynch Bowman. She is survived by her children, William Alfred “Al” Holt, III and wife Sandra of Burlington, Elizabeth Anne “Libby” Halacheff and husband Richard of Elon; Jane Lynch Holt Bailey and Husband Jim of Mebane; son in law, Johnny Ridge of Mebane; sister, Estelle Willard of Mebane; brother, Jack Lynch and wife Mildred of Elon; 7 Grandchildren, Dina Lynn Johnson, Heather Smith, Laura Tate Ridge, William Curry “Will” Ridge, James William Bailey, Jr., Jacob Holt Halacheff, Joseph Vasil Halacheff; 7 great grandchildren, Kendall Sykes, Caden Sykes, Brittney Watson, Dalton Watson, Haven Johnson, Khloe Smith and Aryanna Bailey. A service to celebrate her life will be 12:00 PM Thursday at Mebane Presbyterian Church, 402 South 5th Street, Mebane, NC 27302 by Dr. Jeff Smith. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at McClure funeral home in Mebane, 1308 South Third Street, Mebane, NC 27302 Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00, other times at the residence of Jane Bailey, 2006 Webster Grove Road, Mebane.
