Gregory James Poppa entered eternal rest, suddenly, on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 @ the Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington, NC. Gregory, aka, Greg, was formally from Trumbull, Ct, where he resided for 50 years. After Gregory’s graduation of Trumbull High School, he joined the Army, 82nd Battalion of Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, NC. He was sent to Germany. Gregory then lived in Milford, Ct for 9 years. Gregory was the devoted son of the late Francis L. Poppa of Trumbull, Ct. and he is survived by his loving Mother, Mary Anne Antonio Poppa of Oak Ridge, NC. , his loving Son Frank Poppa & his wife (Monserrat) of Burlington, NC. His loving son, Anthony Poppa of Catawissa, PA, His twin Brother, Craig & Craig’s partner, ( Jennifer Williams), of Kernersville, NC. His loving sister, Lisa Marie Poppa & her husband (Gerald Potkay, Jr) of Oak Ridge, NC. 3 Grandchildren, Santino, Valerie & Frank Lucius, of Burlington, NC. Gregory’s nieces & nephews Brittany Vieira , the late Brett Vieira, Elizabeth Poppa of Florida, Victoria Jacob, Elizabeth Jacob of Carey, NC, Great-niece, Izabel & Great-nephew, Izaiah of Oak Ridge, NC. In addition to his Dad, Francis Poppa he also preceded by his Grandparents, Joaquin (Jack) Antonio, his Grandmother, Izabel Cunha Antonio, Grandfather Lawrence Poppa & Florence Poppa. Many aunts & uncles. Along with father-in-law, Philip DeFalco and a nephew, Brett Vieira. Gregory was currently employed with Home Entertainment & Decor Systems (Heads) in Elon. He was an avid outdoorsman, & he enjoyed hunting, fishing, with his Sons, Dad & friends & family. But, nothing put a bigger smile on Gregory’s face like riding his Harley Davidson. Gregory was a Jack of all trades, but was more known for his dependability and his loving & compassionate soul and he would always place other ones needs above his own. We will always remember Gregory’s outgoing reserve, his amazing smile, strength, wisdom & his ability to touch the hearts of so many lives. A funeral service will be held Tuesday February 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with the Pastor Steve Sykes officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
