Guinevere "Gwen" Isla Cannon

Guinevere Isla “Gwen” Cannon, 89, of Graham, NC, passed away on Tuesday October 17, 2017 at Liberty Commons in Burlington. A native of Horry County, SC, she was the daughter of the late McNeil and Sally Johnson Cannon. She was known for being a Godly woman and a Christian mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to many. She retired from Southern Bell/Bell South with 31 years of service and after retiring from Bell South, she went to work with Rose’s Department Store where she retired a second time with numerous years of service. She was a member of Harvest Baptist Church where she loved her Sunday School Class. She also volunteered as a Pink Lady for many years at County Hospital. Survivors include her daughters, Anita Goodson Hunter and husband Keith, of Graham, Devona Goodson Storey and husband Tim, and Jackie Goodson Lloyd and husband Randy, of Graham; grandchildren, Benji Hunter and wife Dianna. Bridget Troup and husband Matt, Brock Storey and wife Kelley, Blake Storey, (Single and available), Tiffany L. Wilkie and husband Derek, and Chad Lloyd and wife Amy; 5 great grandchildren; her precious Nieces and Nephews and her special friends, Don and Mary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Tate, JB, Malcolm, and Hubert Cannon. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Harvest Baptist Church in Burlington with the Pastor Larry Lamberth Officiating. A private burial will be held at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church on Friday and other times at the residence of the daughter, Jackie Lloyd at 2236 Lacy Holt Road Graham. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Alamance/Caswell at 918 Chapel Hill Rd.
