H. Wendell Miesner

Henry (Wendell) Miesner, 90, of Mebane, went home to be with Jesus on April 11, 2020.

Born and raised on a farm in Seward, Nebraska, Wendell then moved with his family to Illinois when he was in elementary school.  He was married for 68 years to the love of his life, Sara Robison, and had four children together.  They moved to Mebane, North Carolina with his job in 1985, where they have lived ever since.

Wendell served in the US Army during the Korean War.  He retired from ECII, where he was a Control Equipment Product Manager.  He was born into the Lutheran faith and was a faithful member of Mebane United Methodist Church since living in Mebane.

Much loved for his humor, kind heart and strength of character, Wendell had many close friends over the years.  He also enjoyed spending time with family, keeping a pristine lawn and golfing.

Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Oscar John Miesner and Emma Freeman Miesner; sister, Jane Miesner Bright; and son, Ricky Allen Miesner.  He leaves behind his beloved wife Sara, of the home, children Barbara (Tim) Buikema of South Carolina, Nancy (Mike) Graves of Mebane, and Bradley (Pat) Miesner of Mebane.  Grandchildren include Joshua (Martha) Buikema of South Carolina, Max (Amanda) Graves of Florida, Jacki Buikema of Australia, Mandy Graves of Mebane, Chelsea (Mike) Newsholme of Burlington, and five great grandchildren.  He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of recent restrictions, a memorial service will be announced at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent to Mebane United Methodist Church or Amedisys Hospice.
