Mr. Harlan G. Coleman Jr. 98 of Hillsborough, NC passed away on Thursday December 10, 2020 at his residence. He was the son of the late Harlan and Frances Coleman.

A life long resident of Hillsborough, Mr. Coleman was active in the church, civic, and business life of the community. Mr. Coleman was a member of Union Grove United Methodist Church for many years. He was a member of the Exchange Club of Hillsborough 50 years, he received the Exchangite of the Year and the Golden Deeds Awards as recognition for his dedication to his community. He was also honored by Hillsborough Rotary Club as a Paul Harris fellow. Mr. Coleman was a veteran of World War II, serving in The United States Army Air Force in the ETO. Harlan operated a family business in Hillsborough for many years and also was editor and publisher of The New of Orange County.

Mr. Coleman is survived by a son, Keith Coleman and wife Patricia, a daughter-in-law, Bebe Coleman, four grandchildren, Amy Coleman, Sara Fitzpatrick, Jonathan Coleman, and Daniel Coleman, and five great-grandchildren, Jackson Coleman, Connor Fitzpatrick, Andrew Fitzpatrick, James Coleman, and Carter Coleman.

In addition to his parents, Harlan was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anne Laurie Rogers Coleman, and his son, Harry Russell Coleman.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm on January 10, 2021 at Union Grove UMC Cemetery. In lieu of flowers or trees, memorials may be made to the Hillsborough Exchange Club or to Union Grove United Methodist Church.
