Harold Nall, beloved husband, father, Poppy, brother, teacher, and friend, entered his eternal rest surrounded by faith and family on Sunday, November 16th, 2025.
Born to Woodrow and Edna Nall, Harold grew up with a deep love of learning and a strong devotion to his family and faith. He was the first in his family to graduate from college, paving the way for generations to come through his example of hard work and perseverance. A proud member of the Western Alamance High School Class of 1966 and Southeastern University class of 1970, Harold went on to dedicate 33 years to teaching - a profession he always called his calling, not just his career.
As an English teacher, Harold touched countless lives with his compassion, wit, and ability to see the potential in every student. He was especially proud to teach Biblical Literature, combining his faith and love of learning in the classroom. His excellence was recognized with Teacher of the Year honors in 1985, 1986, and 1994. Beyond the classroom, Harold also served as a swim coach, where he inspired his swimmers to push themselves and celebrate each other’s victories. His students and athletes alike remember him as both mentor and friend.
After retiring from public education, Harold continued to share his passion for teaching through leading Sunday school classes and speaking at local churches, often teaching in-depth series on the Book of Revelation. A lifelong member of Burlington Assembly of God, his faith remained the cornerstone of his life.
Harold cherished his family above all else. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Paulette “Sal” Nall; son Cass Nall; son Ladd Nall (late wife Beth) granddaughter Kylie; daughter Danae Pickard (John) and granddaughters Erin (Seth) and Avery; sister Shirley Kernodle (late husband George); and brother Ken Nall (Beth). He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Edna Nall, and his daughter-in-law Beth Nall. Harold also leaves behind many close nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, and his special friend, Alex.
Those who knew Harold will remember his love for learning and his unwavering faith. Whether leading a Sunday lesson, cheering from the stands for his granddaughters, or fiercely competing in a game of badminton or ping pong, Harold brought joy, encouragement, and heart to everything he did. His legendary Christmas Eve celebrations - where he faithfully read The Christmas Story to remind all of the true reason for the season - will be a cherished family tradition.
Harold’s life was a testament to faith, family, and purpose. His legacy continues in the lives of those he taught, coached, loved, and inspired.
