Harold Edward South

Mr. Harold Edward South, 82, of Ashland Dr. Mebane, NC, passed away on Sunday June 22, 2014 at his residence. He was born on November 16, 1931 in Columbus, OH to the late Harold H. and Mary Barrett South. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather in which he will be greatly missed and loved by his family and friends. He was an collector of railroad memorabilia, tools, and model A cars and parts. He was known for his tinkering around especially when it came to wood working, always taking time making new wooden toys for his children to play with. Mr. South was a veteran of the US Army serving in Japan. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Ingeborg Huber South, of the home; daughters, Ursula South Mincey, of Mebane and Gretchen South Barton and husband Bill, of Texas; son, Chad Anthony South and wife Trina, of Indiana; Grandchildren, Owen and Ashli.
