Hazalene Patton Tickle

MEBANE - Hazelene Patton Tickle, 97, of Mebane, passed away on Friday March 21, 2014 at the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields. A native of Alamance County, NC, she was born on January 8, 1917 to the late Lonnie Lee Patton Sr. and Mary Bason Patton. She was a lifelong member of Cross Roads Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Emma Harris Garden Club as gardening and flowers were her love as well as listening to the different birds sing. Surviving is her daughter, Faye Saunders, of Mebane; sons, Donald Tickle and wife Sue, of Raleigh, NC, and David Tickle and wife Nancy, of Fletcher, NC; six grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Elizabeth Lanning, Annie Lee Young, and Margaret Garrison; brothers, Lonnie Lee Patton Jr. and Allen Patton. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday March 24, 2014 at the Cross Roads Presbyterian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Matt Randolph officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cross Roads Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund at 3302 N Carolina 119, Mebane, NC 27302. McClure Funeral Home in Mebane is assisting the family.
