Hazel Fern Copeland Crawford

MEBANE, N.C. - Mrs. Hazel Fern Copeland Crawford, 86, of 2502 South NC 119, Mebane, N.C., passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 at the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields.Born in Orange County to the late Wallace Vern Copeland and Betty Clara Stanfield Copeland, she was a member of the Charity Baptist Church, Saxapahaw, N.C. and a homemaker.Preceding her in death, other than her parents, are husband, Elmer Lee Crawford; daughter, Alice Harper Couch; sons, Wallace Wheeler and John Wheeler; and great-grandson, Hayden Wheeler.She is survived by four daughters, Sylvia Faucette of Mebane and Barbara Wheeler, both of Mebane, Clara Coble and husband Louis of Snow Camp and Ellen Rogers and companion Gary Husketh of Haw River; two sons,Larry Wheeler of Mebane and Earl Wheeler and wife Sherrie of Haw River; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Ed Copeland and wife Mary of Mebane and Rodney Copeland of Graham.The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home, 1308 South Third Street, Mebane, N.C. on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, from 1 p.m. until service time. The service will be held at 3 p.m. in the McClure Chapel with the Rev. James Bowman officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. At other times the family will be gathering at the home of Earl and Sherrie Wheeler, 4181 Phillips Chapel Road, Haw River, N.C.
