Helen "Marie" Wright (Thompson) Perry

Mrs. Helen “Marie” Thompson Wright Perry 91, of Burlington, NC passed away on Wednesday May 12, 2021. Born in Guilford Co. NC on June 26, 1929 she is the daughter of the late Atlas “At” and Martha Bristow Thompson. Marie was retired from Western Electric/AT&T/Lucent Technologies with 30 years of service. She enjoyed her books and reading and was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Survivors include her daughters, Barbara W. Althoff and Helen W. Chappell and husband Garry; a sister, Della Thompson Hunter; grandchildren, Paul McDowell, Paula Church, Michael McDowell, Casie Chappell and Clifford Althoff; her 4 loving great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and her loving nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parenst, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Joy W. Bostian; granddaughter, Elsie Doering; sisters, Dovie Thompson and Louinda Crawford and her brothers, George “Woody”, Curtis, Hubert, Marvin, Gurney “Buddy”, Grady, Hezro Thompson. A funeral service will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church on Sunday May 16, 2021 at 3:00 with the Pastor Clint Jeffcott officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the residence of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AuthoraCare Hospice at 918 Chapel Hill Rd.
