Hessie Ruth Horner

Mebane Hessie Ruth Tapp Horner, 96, a resident of the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields died there Monday, March 28, 2016. She was a native of Orange County and retired from Dixie Yarns. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tullie and Annie Smith Tapp; husband, Melvin Horner and granddaughter, Danielle Wrenn. She is survived by her son, Glenn Tapp and wife Betsy of Burlington, 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson; brother Lindsey Tapp of Efland and Lucille Carter of Burlington. A service to celebrate her life will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane by Pastor Mark Wilson. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 – 3:00 before the service. Memorials may be made to the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields, 2502 South NC 119, Mebane, NC 27302.
