Hilda Durham

Hilda Mae Murray Durham, 86, of Mebane died Tuesday, September 19 at the Hospice Home. She was a native of Alamance County. She was a beautician, and the owner & operator of the Style Shop in Mebane for 35 years. She was a long time member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, and she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernard L. "Buck" Durham; parents, Curnie L. & Fonnie Talley Murray; step-mother, Lerma Murray; son, Donnie Durham; infant twin sisters, Mary Ann & Alberther Murray; and brother, Clinie Murray. She is survived by her children; Jerry & Cheryl Durham of Mebane, Randy & Lisa Durham of Raleigh, Sheri & Randy Smith of Liberty, and Lynne & Joel Terry of Gibsonville; grandchildren, Wendy Walton, Heather Craven and Jonathan, Melanie Lovings and Jacob, Chase Durham, Caleb Durham, Clayton Durham and Paige, Joshua Durham, Chelsea Terry, Jessica Durham and Logan Terry; great-grandchildren, Zoe Lovings, Aurora Marrero, Alice Craven, Sophia Durham, George Craven and Bert Durham. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane by Dr. Phillip Smith. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral on Friday from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. and at other times at the home of Jerry and Cheryl Durham, 118 Stoneham Road, Mebane.
