Ida Hayes Winstead “Jo” Adams, 71, of Burlington died Thursday, July 13, 2017 at her residence. She was a native of Alamance County, retired truck driver for Watkins Motor Lines, Hospice volunteer, member of the Chamber of Commerce Women’s Division, A member of Haw River United Methodist Church where she was a camp staff member and active with the bereavement committee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Vance & Louise Moize Hayes; brother, Larry Eugene Hayes and a sister, Belva Lee Whitt. She is survived by her sons, Daniel Winstead and wife Sherri of Abilene, TX, Lawrence Winstead and wife Marjan of Newport, Dwight Winstead and wife Lauren of Youngsville; sisters, Helen Pierce of Burlington, Linda Watkins and husband Bill of Burlington, Faye Combs and husband Howard of Greensboro, Diane Adams and husband George of Mebane; brother, David Hayes and wife JoAnn of Gibsonville and 6 grandchildren A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday at Haw River United Methodist Church by Pastor Laurie Kalau. Burial will follow in Haw River Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at McClure Funeral Home in Graham.
