MEBANE, N.C. - Iva Irene Farrar Rainey, 99, of Presbyterian Home of Hawfields, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Scott's Bluff, Neb., retired from textiles, was a housewife and a member of Mebane Gospel Church.Mrs. Rainey is survived by her children, Karen Yeatts and Michael of Roxboro, Ella King and Clyde "Bo" of Haw River, N.C. and James Allen Rainey of Ruby, S.C.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, brothers, Bob Farrar of Mebane and Paul Farrar and Betty of Stuart, Va.; and a host of nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Virgil Rainey; two great-grandsons; parents, Monroe Ethan and Estella Marlin Farrar; four sisters and five brothers.The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, in the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane. Officiating will be Jessie Raines. Burial will follow in Kerr's Chapel Baptist Church cemetery.The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane from 6 until 8 Friday evening. At other times they will be at the residence of Ella and Bo King, 107 Third Street, Haw River, N.C. 27258.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields, 2502 S. Hwy 119, Mebane, NC 27302.
