Jacob Daniel Helms

Mr. Jacob Daniel “Jake” Helms, 82, of Gibsonville, NC, passed away on Friday November 15, 2019 at his residence after years of declining health. A native of Lincoln Co. NC, he was the son of the late Bill Henry and Christine Wood Helms. Jake was known for being a hardworking man and always doing for others before himself. He had a strong love for the Lord and his faith. Jake enjoyed working in his garden growing tomatoes and other things but nothing had his heart and his smiles like his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Carolyn Williams Helms; his daughter, Robin H. Richardson and husband Buddy; his sons, Doug E. Helms and wife Cindy and Billy A. Helms and wife Christy; his loving grandchildren, Caitlin, Chloe, Mason, Karen, Hunter, and his loving brothers and sister. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Janice Maturo. A private family graveside service will be held at Gibsonville City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Alamance/Caswell at 918 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215. The family of Mr. Helms would like to extend a special thank you to Chaplain Eddie and to the Staff of the Alamance/Caswell Hospice for their love and care during this difficult time.
