James "Mason" Barnwell

Mason Barnwell was born on May 31, 1934. He passed away on June 12, 2023 at Mebane Ridge in Mebane, North Carolina.

Mason was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty Barnwell and by his father and mother, Anderson Hall and Kate Roney Barnwell.

He is survived by one brother, Henry Dale Barnwell. He was the father of two children, Kathy Wilkins (George) of Mebane, NC and Ronnie Barnwell (Martha) of Charlotte, NC. He has four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

He was a member of Cross Roads Presbyterian Church of Mebane. Mason was a native of Mebane, NC and was educated at Pleasant Grove High School. He worked for Associated Transport in Burlington, NC and Huffman Oil Company in Burlington, NC.

The family would like to thank Mebane Ridge and Gentiva Hospice for their care and encouragement.

A memorial service will be on Monday, June 26, 2023 at 11:00 am at Cross Roads Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Cross Roads Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund (3302 North NC Highway 119, Mebane, NC 27302). McClure Funeral Service in Mebane is assisting the family.
