James "Jamie" Baxter Whisnant Jr.

Mr. James Baxter “Jamie” Whisnant Jr., 47, of Chapel Hill NC, passed away on Wednesday September 14, 2016 at his residence. He is the son of James Baxter Sr. and Kathy McAdams Whisnant, who survive. Jamie was an extraordinary person and the old saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover” applied to Jamie in his everyday life. He was known for having a heart of gold and would always put others above himself. He was one of the most dependable people you could ever imagine. He loved his family, friends, his dog, his motorcycle and he enjoyed being outdoors whether he was up north fishing with his son Cameron or camping with his family. It will be hard for many people to go through life without Jamie as he will be missed by all. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of the home, Patricia Albright; daughter, Laura Whisnant, of Durham; son, Cameron James Whisnant, of the home; grandson, Braxton Whisnant; Step daughter, Christina Albright, of Mebane; brother, Charles Whisnant, of Graham; his sidekick, Dusty Herbert; his special loving dog, Scooter and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John S. McAdams and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence T. Whisnant. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Sunday, September 18, 20116 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with Mr. Bill Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
