Rev. James William Christopher

Rev. James William Christopher (67) of Mebane, NC was called home to be with the Lord on July 31, 2024 after years of failing health. He was born February 25, 1957 to the late Rev.  James Lee Christopher and Rosa Byrd Christopher. Rev. James W. Christopher worked many different jobs over the years including Cones Mills in Haw River, Hardee’s in Burlington and Mebane, Times News , JR Tobacco as well as the Family Restaurant (James Café). As he worked those jobs he was also the Pastor at The Peoples Church in Mebane for over 40 years and a member of the  Missionary Methodist Conference in Shelby NC since 1978. Anyone that knew James could see in him the love he had for the Lord and people. He was always happy to share his faith with everyone.  He was always available to answer to the needs of others whether it be council, services or mentoring. James lived his life centered around his faith in the Lord and he strove to set an example of being a Godly pastor, husband, father, son and friend. Rev. James William Christopher was preceded in death by his father Rev James Lee Christopher, his brother Robert Lee Christopher, his infant child, his grandparents and best friend JR Hill. He is survived by his mother Rosa Byrd Christopher, his wife of 45 years Donna Morrison Christopher, his two sons William Christopher of Burlington and James D. Christopher and wife Gloria of Burlington, his daughter Crystal Paul and her husband Julian of Mebane and his bonus daughter Kristi Gates of Mebane, 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren as well as many in his church family. Rev. James William Christopher will have a celebration of life on Saturday August 3, 2024 at 2:00 pm. at the People’s Church, 303 W Crawford Street Mebane, NC. 27302.
