James Willis Grady, 60, of Graham, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026. James was a determined and strong-willed man who lived life with independence and honesty. He was a good listener who cared about others and was someone his family and friends could count on. He was a long time member of Mission Fellowship, formally Nall Memorial, where he served as a deacon for about six years. In his younger years, James had a special love for cars and motorcycles, enjoying the freedom and excitement that came with them. At the age of 20, he was in a tragic accident and lived much longer than anticipated due to his sheer determination in life. He was a wonderful son, brother, father, and grandfather, and the love he had for his family was evident in the way he lived his life. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
He is survived by his son, Dakota Grady (Samantha); his grandchildren, Jax and Lily Grady; his parents, Charles Alderman Sr. and Clara Alderman; his sister, Tammy Eggleston (David); his brother, Charles Alderman Jr. (Candy); his special friend, Joanna Smith; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A service will be held to honor his life on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 3:00pm at McClure Funeral Home in Graham with Pastor Wade Cox officiating. Burial will follow the service at Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm-3:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at his sister, Tammy's residence.
