James Richard “Jimmy” Johnson, Sr., 86, of Burlington passed away at his home on Monday, August 29, 2022. He was a native of Robeson County, retired truck driver for Burlington Industries, a member of Thomas M. Holt Lodge # 492 AF&AM in Graham and a member of Staley Memorial Baptist Church. He is the son of the late Lewis and Naomi Moody Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Daphne Culbreth Johnson of the home; daughters, Deborah Johnson and husband Rex of Hope Mills, Cynthia Johnson and partner Raymond Manley of Gastonia and son, Richard Johnson and wife Vicky of the home; sister, Barbara Allen and husband Jay of Raleigh, grandchildren, Michael Johnson, Samantha Stevens, Ashley Webster, Andrew Johnson; great grandchildren, Ava & Reid Webster, Kella Johnson, Jason Allred and Naomi Johnson
A graveside service to celebrate his life will be 1:00 PM Saturday, September 3 at the Culbreth Cemetery in Fayetteville, NC by Marty Woods. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham on Friday from 2:00 – 3:00 PM where Rev. Rodney Murray will open with prayer.
