LINDLEY, JAMES ROBERT, 77, of Snow Camp, slipped peacefully from this life in the early morning minutes of Sunday, July 16, 2017 after a lingering illness. Jim was born on April 10, 1940 to Robert and Mae Lindley in Burlington, NC. He is predeceased by his parents and his brother Morris, who was also his best friend. He will be greatly missed by his children Renee Lindley (Burlington), Michael Lindley (Sanford) and Tammy Bemis (Frederick, MD); grandchildren Ashli Coble, Stephen Ray Robbins, Devon Nelson and Erin Ivy Bemis; sisters Lillian Chance Breedlove (Trenton, GA), June Walker (Snow Camp) and Shirley Fox (Chester, VA); and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews, including cousin Paul Johnson who was like a brother for many years. The family is grateful to his nephew Mark Walker and sister June Walker of Snow Camp who provided loving care for him during the last years of his life. Jim proudly served in the U.S. Army in Germany and France. He never met a stranger, and was a happy, kind and hard-working man all his life. A private celebration of his life will take place in August. Condolences may be offered at www.mcclurefuneralservice.net
