James "Bud" Mac Thomas

HAW RIVER- James “Bud” Thomas, 99, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2022 at the Hospice Home. He was born on March 19, 1923 to the late Crawford Thomas and the late Daisy Knight Thomas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Thomas, two sisters, Margie Sykes, and Mary Susan “Susie” Thomas, and a granddaughter, Lisa Parker. He is survived by a daughter, Dianne Setzer (Roger), two sons, Danny and Larry Thomas (Angel), one grandchild, Jennifer Gordy (Seth), three great-grandchildren, Reese Gordy, and Dale and David Parker, and two great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by a very special niece, Gayle Holt, and her husband, Gary and a great-nephew, Doug Holt. “Bud” was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Haw River. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday August 24, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Alamance Memorial Park in Burlington and will be officiated by Vicar Miriam Saxon.
