James W. Pruitt

James William Pruitt, 87, of Mebane went home to be with the Lord, July 9, 2017. He was a native of Alamance County and a retired Minister and a member of Gospel Baptist Tabernacle Church in Hillsborough. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hollis Franklin and Bessie Ola Overman Pruitt. He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Amick Pruitt of Mebane; Daughters, Judy Ann Pruitt Russ and husband Lloyd of Mebane, Janet Carol Pruitt Nemeth and husband Mark of Ranson, WV; Son, James Robert Pruitt & wife Shannon of Clarksville, VA; Grandchildren, Matthew Nemeth and Jennifer Yerian; step grandchildren, Trevor Singleton, Dale Singleton, Daniel Singleton; brothers, Johnny Pruitt of FL, Richard "Buddy" Pruitt of Ossipee and Wayne Pruitt of Mebane. A service to celebrate his life will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Gospel Baptist Tabernacle Church in Hillsborough by Rev. David Bolick. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church 6– 8 p.m. Wednesday night, other times at the residence.
