James "Jimmy" Reginald Dodson

James “Jimmy” Reginald Dodson, 63, of Mebane, NC passed away on Sunday, April 09, 2023, at Duke University Hospital. Jimmy was a native of Orange County and was the son of Reginald Lester Dodson and Christine Huffines Dodson Oakley. Jimmy will be remembered as an out-going person, very curious to everyone’s likes and interests, and always trying to find the humor in any situation. When he wasn’t getting to know a new friend or cracking jokes, Jimmy enjoyed his time traveling, especially to the beach, and learning about all things history related.

Mr. Dodson was preceded in death by his father, Reginald Lester Dodson; and his brothers, Gene Dodson, and Lester Dodson.

Jimmy is survived by his sons, Kevin Dodson (Angela), and Justin Dodson; his daughter, Heather Dodson; his mother, Christine Huffines Dodson Oakley; his siblings, Shirley Smith (Dwight), Donald Dodson, Augustine Dodson, Wendy Gordon, Joyce Smith, and Dorothy Wright; his girlfriend, Polly Martin; his two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thurssday, April 13, 2023, at the McClure Funeral Home in Mebane, beginning at 2:00PM. The family will receive friends an  hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery.
