James Theodore "Ted" Thompson

James Theodore “Ted” Thompson, 68 of Mebane passed away at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill on Thursday, February 12, 2026. Ted was born on October 15, 1957 in Alamance County to Gurney and Hazel Thompson.

Ted is survived by his daughters, Tina Marie Thompson and Melissa Dawn Hererra. Grandchildren, Jasmine, Miguel, Calina, Yalia, Aliana, Laniya, Amiliya. Great Grandchild, Janetzia. He also leaves behind a sister, Linda Miller and her husband Tim. Brother in law, Wayne Catlett.

In addition to his parents Ted was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Catlett.

The family will receive friends at Oak Grove Baptist Church from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 17, 2026. There will be a graveside service to follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
