Jane Elizabeth Adams Scott, 71, of the Guardian Angel Care Home, formerly of 1336 Cloverdale Street, Burlington, N.C., passed away June 8, 2013 after a short battle with liver cancer. Born Oct. 28, 1941 to Harry Singleton Adams and Janie Hawkins Adams, both deceased, she was a graduate of Williams High School and was employed at Kayser-Roth Hosiery Mills for 18 years. She was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church. She was married to Melvin Scott for 19 years. Jane Scott is survived by brother, Buddy Adams; sisters, Peggy Tingen, Barbara Blaylock, Juanita Carter and Gay Townes; her children, Kimberly Walker and fiancé Todd Thornton and Donald Scott and wife Lorie Scott; and grandchildren, Cody and Corey Wiggington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin brother, Jerry Adams. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Glen Hope Baptist Church. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church and at other times at the residence of the son, Donald, 4402 Bellemont-Mt. Hermon Road, Graham, N.C. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Officiating will be the Rev. Larry Redding and the Rev. Adam Bellamy. McClure Funeral Service in Graham is in charge of arrangements. Special thanks to the Guardian Angel Care Home and her niece, Wendy, for their compassionate care of our mother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help cover burial expenses.
