James Minson Cook PHOTO/LOGOCHAPEL HILL, N.C. - James Minson Cook, 55, died Monday, March 24, 2014, after two years of declining health.He was born Sept. 20, 1958 in Mebane, N.C. and graduated from Orange High School, Hillsborough, in 1976. He was formerly employed with Robert Cecil Logging and was currently working on Thom's Creek Farms, Mebane.He is survived by his wife, Deborah Zachary Cook, of Chapel Hill; daughter, Jamie Cook (Kurtis) of Chapel Hill; sons, Dylan Cook (Britany) and Matthew Cook of Chapel Hill; grandson, Elijah Crawford; granddaughter, Caylee Cook; father, Houston Cook of Mebane; sisters, Dianne Cook and Donna Simmons of Efland, Gail Gibbs of Hillsborough and Frieda McLendon of Graham; and brothers, John Cook, Robert Cook and Douglas cook of Mebane; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Cook; and sister, Johnsie Smith.A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Clover Garden Methodist Church, 2757 Orange Chapel Clover Garden Road, Chapel Hill, N.C. Burial in the church cemetery and visitation with the family will follow the service.
