Janet Gray Fogleman

February 27, 1937 — May 31, 2022

Burlington

Mrs. Janet Fogleman was ushered into the presence of her Lord & Savior May 31, 2022 after years of failing health.  Born February 27, 1937 in Graham, NC.  She was proceeded in death by parents John Willie Gray and Irene Mintz Gray, brother John L. Gray, her loving husband Harold Dean Fogleman Sr. and great granddaughter Annabell Eden Fogleman. She leaves behind a legacy of faith and strength to her survivors: son Harold ‘Dean’ Fogleman, Jr. and wife Shelia Barts Fogleman, two precious grandsons ‘Wesley’ Dean Fogleman, wife Kendal Spoon Fogleman, and Chase Austin Fogleman of Burlington.  Other survivors include sister Debbie Gray Miriello and husband Ron Miriello, niece Diana Miriello Brown and husband Ricky Brown, great niece Gabryella Miriello of Sanford, NC, and nephew Dr. Mark Gray Miriello of Philadelphia, PA. Janet was a graduate of Alexander Wilson High School.  She worked as a fabric designer for Burlington Industries, Wachovia Bank & Trust, and retired with 30 years of service from 1st State Bank in June 1999 as Assistant Corporate Secretary. Her adult life was centered on serving her Lord, her community and those in need. Her quest to help others resulted in her assistance in setting up polio clinics, active participation with The Alamance Muscular Dystrophy Assoc., the Lakeview  Civitan Club, and was instrumental in the Charter of the First Ladies Civitan Club of North Carolina.  She and Harold were founding members of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, where she also taught Sunday School. Now a member of the Altamahaw Baptist Church. Janet loved people and enjoyed planning events and weddings, was an avid bowler, and loved to volunteer and help others.  She had a passion for Operation Christmas Child shoe box ministry, packing and donating hundreds of shoeboxes. Janet and her husband Harold were active parents in their son Dean’s school years and enjoyed being band boosters and chaperones. She loved visiting the Beach and collecting lighthouses.  Most of all she Loved her family with all her heart and will be greatly missed by many. A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday June 8, 2022 in the McClure Funeral Chapel in Graham with Pastor Walter Jones officiating.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 1pm-2pm.  The burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to  the Altamahaw Baptist Church Building Fund, 3445 Altamahaw Church St, Elon, NC 27244.
