Janie Mae Wells

Liberty Janie Mae Jones Wells, 85, of Liberty died Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was a native of New Bern, NC, retired from Alamance County Department of Social Services, Vocational Trades of Alamance and real estate management and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Jones & Bertha Jones Cheek; husband, James Norwood Wells; sister, Mary Jane Ray; brothers, James Claude Jones, Grover Jones and half-brother, Alex Cheek. She is survived by her children, James N. Wells, Jr. & wife Donna of Wendell, NC, Deborah Allred Hammer and husband Bill of Stoney Creek, NC, Jerry Lee Wells and wife Sandra of Graham, NC; 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Andy Clapp, Rev. Kenny Black and Rev. Bennie Smith. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham 6-8 Friday night. Memorials may be made to the building fund of Mt.
