Jean Abbitt Bowler

BURLINGTON - Mrs. Jean Abbitt Bowler, 80, passed away Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was blessed with good friends and neighbors. She was employed as a nurse at the Alamance County Hospital for over 25 years before retiring in 1995. She is survived by sons, Ollie Bowler Jr. and wife Catharine, Ellis Bowler and wife Teresa, Collin Bowler and wife Lisa; 10 Grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Jac Blanks, Lynda Moody and husband Jim, Wendy Keesee; brothers, Mac Abbitt and wife Nancy, Jim Abbitt and wife Joan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie C. Bowler; and her parents, Collin M. and Mabel Abbitt. A service will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the McClure Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Chuck Perkins. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at McClure Funeral Service in Graham, 1030 S. Main St., Graham, NC 27253.A private burial will follow at a later date in Alamance Memorial Park.
