Jean Faye (Brown) Kidd

Jean Faye Kidd, also known as Mamaw, went to be with the Lord surrounded by family on April 24, 2025, at Authora Care (Hospice). Jean was born in Graham, NC to Earnest and Lillie Mae on August 17, 1940.

Jean was married to her childhood sweetheart, Jimmy Jackson Kidd for 65 years. Together they brought into this world four children: Mike Kidd (Gail Kidd), David Kidd, Terri Claar (Kim Claar), Randy Kidd. She also had four wonderful grandchildren: Lauren Foster (Matt Foster), Jennifer DeVries, Jeff Kidd (Whitney Kidd), and Brittni Ohm (Stephen Ohm). Jean had the joy of being a great grandmother to: Lilly Foster, Abigail DeVries, Carter DeVries, Maylen Kidd, Jett Kidd, Maggie Ohm, Lilah Ohm, Birdie Ohm and Buck Ohm.

Jean was joyfully reunited in heaven with the love of her life, Jimmy. She was also preceded by her sisters, Ruth, Billie, Lib, Linda, Earlene, Lillie Mae and brother Elmer. It brings so much happiness to us knowing that Jean and Jimmy are back together again.

Though she was a woman of few words, Jean’s resilience and quiet strength left a lasting impact. Jean found joy spending time with her Koi Pond and tending to her plants and flowers. She retired from the textiles industry. If anyone needed something sewn, she was the one to call! She loved cooking and was known for her famous “doo doo” cookies.
