Jean Rice Fox

Mrs. Jean Rice Fox, 86, of Mebane, NC, passed away on Wednesday August 14, 2019 at Mebane Ridge Assisted Living. A native of Alamance County, NC she was the daughter of the late Bill and Annie Rice and the wife of 58 years to the late Morris Fox. Jean graduated from Mebane High School as well as the Burlington Business School. She retired with 38 years of service from May Apparel/Peaches N Cream in Mebane. Jean was a proud member of Eastside Baptist Church where she taught Children’s Sunday School for many years. Survivors include her daughter, Luanne Payne (Johnny); sons, Clifton Fox (Elaine) and Doug Fox (Barbara); grandchildren, Brad Fox (Courtney), Lindsay Bennett (Brandon), Caitlin Howard (Wyatt), Landon Payne (Amber), Caleb Fox, Ethan Fox, Jacob Payne; 4 great grandchildren; step grandchildren, Cedar Glasgow (Troy) and Robbie Gentry (Elizabeth); 4 step great grandchildren; her sister, Doris Franklin; a brother Donald Rice (Pricilla); and a sister in law, Jo Rice. In addition to her loving husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Randy Fox; sisters, Gerline Paulette, Morine Mills and her brother Bobby Rice. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday August 17, 2019 at the Eastside Baptist Church in Mebane with the Pastor Chuck Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM on Friday August 16, 2019 at the McClure Funeral Home in Mebane and other times at the residence of the daughter Luanne.
