Jerry Gaylon Carmichael

Jerry Gaylon Carmichael, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on July 30, 1936, Jerry’s long and meaningful life was marked by deep devotion to his family and the countless lives he touched with his kindness and strength of character. He was deeply devoted to his faith, especially with his First Baptist Mebane faith family.

He is survived by his wife of the home, Gladys Snider Carmichael; his children, Marcia Carmichael Bradbury, Galen Carmichael (Sara), and Gwyn Carmichael Broome (Philip); his grandchildren, Callie, Daniel, Benjamin, Kara, Jessica, Kelsey, Carter, Kaitlyn, and Anna; his great grandchild, Brendan; and his brother, Richard Carmichael (Jane).

A service will be held to celebrate Jerry’s life at First Baptist Church in Mebane: 301 S. Third Street Mebane, NC 27302, on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, beginning at 2:30pm with Pastor Sammy Ballard officiating. The family will receive family and friends prior to the service at the church beginning at 1:00pm. Burial will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery in Mebane.
