Jerry Michael Durham

BURLINGTON - Mr. Jerry Michael Durham, 69, of 1449 Sandy Cross Road, Burlington, NC died at 2:35 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2013 at UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill after a long and valiant fight. Born in Guilford County to the late Claude Ralph Durham Sr. and Mary Ola Waddell Durham. He served our nation with honor in the United States Army and served in Vietnam during the Vietnam Conflict. Jerry was of the Baptist faith and served the Lord as a Deacon at Friendly Grove Baptist Church and Harmony Baptist Church.Surviving him is his wife Mary Sue Estep Durham of the home, children Lisa Marie Durham Hawk and husband Keith of Yadkinville, Jamie Lee Durham and wife Angela of Elon, Kristie Renea Durham and husband Gordon of Snow Camp, grandchildren Nicole Durham and Matthew Durham. Brother Ronnie Durham and wife Joyce, Burlington and was also preceded in death by a brother Claude Ralph Durham Jr.The family will receive friends at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham on Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. other times at the residence.A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday October 29, 2013 at the Longs Chapel Church Cemetery.
