Jerry Edward Young

Mr. Jerry Edward Young, 76, of Gibsonville, NC, passed away on Friday December 20, 2019 at the Hospice Home of Burlington. A native of Alamance County, NC he was the son of the late Rev. W.S. and Donnie Dixon Young. Jerry served proudly in the US Air Force and was a Past Master of the Tabasco Lodge #271 AF & AM in Gibsonville. Survivors include his wife of the home, Marchetta McConnell Young; his loving daughter, Debbie Johnson; his sons, Tim (Beverly) Young, Billy Young, Keith (DeAnne) Young; grandchildren, Shawn (Jacqueline) Johnson, Brandon (Nikki) Johnson, Kaelyn (David) Simmons, Cameron Young, Amaris Young, Silas Young, Grant Madren, Logan Madren, Brittney Barker-Jones, Kelsey Jones; sisters, Cathy (Gary) McDaniel, Carol Massey, and Donna Powell; sisters in law, Aggie Young and Linda Young; 6 loving great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Donnie D. Jones; a grandson, Joseph Johnson; sisters, Mary W. Snow and Betty P. Bailey; his brothers, Buddy, Richard, Glenn, and Henry Young. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday December 26, 2019 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with the Pastors Mike Mitchener and Larry Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in Gibsonville City Cemetery with Military and Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until service time prior on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance/Caswell at 918 Chapel Hill RD. Burlington, NC 27215 or to the Oxford Orphanage (MHCO) at 600 College St. Oxford, NC 27565.
